David's Recipe for Polvo de Amor

Love Powder. Old cook books list it as a garnish for desserts, but it also makes an excellent if unconventional chutney.

  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  1. Mix the sugar and coconut.
  2. Heat over low heat, in a heavy pan, stirring constantly.
  3. When it is a very light brown, turn off the heat, and continue browning in the residual heat left in the pan and the polvo itself.
