David's Recipe for Tomato Chutney

Clemenceau never said that bottled chutney is to chutney what military music is to music.

Chutney, Indian

 
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 large onion
  • Juice of 1 lemon or lime
  • pinch of salt
  1. Blanch the tomato, remove the two ends, peel, and dice very fine.
  2. Dice the onion.
  3. Add the salt and the lemon.
  4. Allow to stand for several hours before serving with curry.
